South!

A story about a sunken ship and the fight for survival, South! is a non-fiction account of the British Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition led by explorer Ernest Shackleton. Their ship, the Endurance, became lodged in the ice and eventually sank. The crew survived for six months before reaching the nearest island, where most of the crew remained while Shackleton and five others continued on to seek help. Recounting the events of the expedition from start to finish, South! tells a harrowing tale about determination and survival in one of the harshest climates on earth.
